Through CHAMP, The War Amps is there to help child amputees and their families from the very start, with financial assistance for artificial limbs, peer support, regional seminars and programs like Matching Mothers.
The success of the CHAMP Program is nowhere better illustrated than in our newest documentary (funded by corporate donations) about Mark, An Island Champ, who lost an arm at seven in a farm accident. He credits the emotional and financial support received through CHAMP for where he is today – an engineering student and biathlete living independently.
The Matching Mothers Program offers support from parents who have “been there.” Only families who have a child with a similar amputation can truly alleviate some of the anxieties that many new parents of an amputee child experience.
JUMPSTART gives children with multiple amputations (Super Champs) who are enrolled in CHAMP a head start on tomorrow by providing computer systems, educational software, adaptive devices and training at an early age.
The National Amputee Centre, formed in 1999, serves Canadian amputees with the latest information on artificial limbs and all aspects of amputation.
The War Amps PLAYSAFE Program is a unique kids-to-kids approach to child safety. The purpose? To make children more aware of the dangers in their play environment.

DRIVESAFE was developed in 1987 to promote safe driving and to prevent serious injuries due to accidents.
