It is often asked is whether The War Amps will be around in the future. Yes it will!

The War Amps, through its constitution, is laying the groundwork for the future when war amputee veterans are no longer able to conduct the business of the Association. The Association will carry on under the name The War Amps, and through Operation Legacy, members of our CHAMP Program for child amputees will continue the tradition of “amputees helping amputees” as members of the Board of Directors. Many of these young adults are already launched in careers in commerce, law, medicine, and other professions. Because of their long-time association with The War Amps, they have the dedication and commitment which will ensure the continuation of its programs.

Planned giving refers to charitable gifts that require some planning before they are made. Planned gifts are popular because they can provide valuable tax benefits and/or income for life. By making bequests and other planned gifts, you can continue to help The War Amps improve the quality of life for amputees across Canada. The most common forms of Planned Gifts are:

Bequests 
Leaving a bequest to The War Amps in your will creates a lasting memorial to your values and achievements.

Charitable Remainder Trusts
A Charitable Remainder Trust involves transferring investments or property to a trust that allows you to continue to have the right to use those assets or to receive all the income earned within the trust.

Life Insurance Policies
The gift of a new or existing life insurance policy naming The War Amps as the beneficiary.

Endowments 
An Endowment is a contribution where the principal is held in perpetuity and the income or interest from the principal is used for the purposes as outlined in an endowment agreement.
