The War Amps instituted a successful Mature Drivers Program for its members, wives or widows in response to recent media coverage on motor vehicle licences for older drivers. The goal of the Mature Drivers Program is to provide guidance and the skills needed to continue driving safely.

The War Amps believes its Mature Drivers Program will educate and encourage its members to take a refresher course through an accredited driving school and maintain their driving permits, so long as it may be feasible.

The Program offers an instructional video produced by The War Amps, a DRIVESAFE sticker and defensive driving tips. The video is meant to be both fun and educational, but it is also intended to encourage drivers to take more care and know the rules of the road.

The War Amps is now offering its instructional material at a cost-recovery price of $10, which includes postage, to seniors across Canada.
