SAFETY WALK
To avoid danger, children must first learn to recognize it. As part of the total PLAYSAFE Program, SAFETY WALK makes young children aware of the potential hazards in their neighbourhoods. The War Amps encourages adults (parents, teachers, etc...) to lead walks through their communities, pointing potential dangers out to children along the way.

Complete SAFETY WALK Kits are available free of charge. Please contact the PLAYSAFE Program. Each kit contains stickers, invitations, a list of potential hazards, brochures, work sheets and information on The War Amps.
The SAFETY WALK Kit is also available as part of the PLAYSAFE/DRIVESAFE Resource Kit.
The War Amps decided to involve adults in the SAFETY WALK Program when a powerful letter reached us. It was from a father who had lost his son in a tragic accident. He had written to the editor of a local newspaper: "It is too late for my son, but I plead with all parents. Please check the potential hazards in your community. Take the walk I didn't."
