Non-Slip Surfaces

Dycem is made of non-slip rubber which is useful for holding items in place. It provides a grip for items such as writing materials, dishes and utensils. In fact, it is useful anywhere it is necessary to prevent slipping or sliding, and is available in yards, as matting, in small round or rectangular pads, in strips, or small tabs to attach to the bottom of items.

Rubber Maid has a mesh product, available in many grocery stores and department stores, that holds items in place too.

Foam Padding Grips

There are several brands and sizes available. Some are pre-cut to specific lengths, while others come in long tubes that can be cut to size. Rectangular or circular inside holes easily slip over the handles of utensils (or crayons, etc.) to make them easier to grasp with an artificial arm.

Plug Puller

This device attaches permanently to plugs and is easy to install. The easy-to-hold puller provides two large finger holes in which the "fingers" of an artificial arm fit.
