Letter to Editor - The Ottawa Citizen
Ottawa, July 13, 2001
Mr. Randy Boswell
News Editor
The Ottawa Citizen
Dear Mr. Boswell:
On July 11, 2001, The Ottawa Citizen published a story by Mike Blanchfield concerning a possible violation of the Privacy Act (clipping follows). Today, I was interrogated in my office by a member of the Privacy Commissioner's staff.
She categorized The Citizen's story as a "tempest in a teapot."
Unfortunately, my reputation was damaged. As well, this story could result in a loss of income for my employer, The War Amputations of Canada.
Herewith is a copy of my letter of even date to the Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs.
Sincerely,
H. Clifford Chadderton, CC, O. Ont., OStJ, CLJ, CAE, DCL, LLD
Chief Executive Officer, The War Amps
