Safety Blitzes
"Safety in Numbers!"
War Amps Safety Blitzes are coordinated in conjunction with police forces across Canada. This partnership is a perfect marriage of two groups that have a special interest in child safety. By teaming with the RCMP or local police detachments, The War Amps is able to pass on our PLAYSAFE message to thousands of Canadian children.
The goal of War Amps safety blitzes is to target as many school-aged children as possible in a two or three day period. PLAYSAFE presentations are organized at the various elementary schools in a community and each one can reach hundreds of children at once. Although all safety areas are covered in the presentations, they are also tailored to particular dangers in each community.
The support and assistance of the police is extremely important in putting safety blitzes together. The police have the community contacts. Schools are eager for safety education and the police contact is the first step to introducing them to the PLAYSAFE Program. It is a perfect match!

"There were many positive comments from students and teachers after the presentation. We are very pleased to have been included in your school visitations. Thank you again both to yourself and Constable Gary Clow for your efforts."
