1924-2018

Ed Wilson

Edward (Ed) Wilson, of Kingston, Ontario, was born on August 31, 1924, and enlisted in the Infantry with the Irish Regiment of Canada in September 1943. He was injured in Holland in May 1945 when he stepped on a Schu-mine, resulting in the loss of his left leg below the knee.

Mr. Wilson returned to Canada and joined The War Amps Kingston Branch in 1946, holding the positions of:

  • National Director, Kingston Branch
  • Secretary and President, Kingston Branch

He attended numerous CHAMP seminars over the years, sharing his knowledge and positive outlook with child amputees and their families. For his dedication to the Association, he was awarded the Honorary CHAMP Membership by The War Amps.

He passed away on December 18, 2018.
